Institutional audiovisual communication has changed more in the last three years than in the previous decade. These are the trends we are seeing on the ground, in Mozambique and across the region.

1. Vertical is no longer secondary

Organizations that used to ask for "a video" now ask for multi-format packages: the main piece in 16:9 and vertical 9:16 cuts designed from scratch for Reels, TikTok and WhatsApp, and not improvised crops. In our productions, vertical framing is already planned during capture.

2. Highlights on the same day

At conferences and institutional events, the final film remains the official memory, but the battle for attention is won in the first 24 hours. Highlight deliveries in 24-48h have gone from a differentiator to a requirement.

3. Authenticity over excessive production

Institutional audiences (donors included) are wary of overly polished pieces. The trend is credible documentary: real people, real sound, controlled imperfection. Technical rigor remains, but in service of truth, not veneer.

4. Accessibility as standard

Subtitling (PT/EN), sign-language interpretation at public events and attention to contrast and legibility are no longer extras. International bodies increasingly require it in procurement.

5. Archive as a strategic asset

Organizations have realized that today's raw footage is tomorrow's campaign. Delivering and archiving in an organized way (with backups and metadata) has become part of the service, and a supplier selection criterion.

6. AI in post-production, humans in the story

AI tools speed up transcription, subtitling and footage organization. But the choice of story, cultural sensitivity and the relationship with the people filmed remain, and will remain, deeply human.
